From The Author

 Throughout my childhood I developed a passion for and a love affair with the written word.  Subject matter was eclectic, crossing a myriad of topics.  Each time I entered a library, I was transformed into an Indiana Jones character on the next great quest for adventure.  Books provided escape, expansion of the universe and excitement for what life had to offer.  Everything about each visit, from the ancient wooden shelves arching toward the cathedral ceilings, to the musty aroma of old, well worn cloth bound tomes, even the silence interrupted by the occasional page rustling of fellow adventurers, brought delight. 

I knew that someday I wanted to be one of those authors whose books beckoned from a shelf, virtually jumping up and down, inviting some child to become a time traveler of sorts. Perhaps some lucky adult who had just experienced the ability to read for the first time would find the universe of discovery through the written word to be transforming.  Some people aspire and fear to try; others leap out in faith.  I so admired all those authors and now I have the privilege to be one of them!
